The Prince’s Foundation’s Christmas Carol Concert 2020

The Prince’s Foundation is to hold a virtual carol concert in collaboration with St Paul’s Church in Knightsbridge, which will be streamed on Tuesday 15 December at 5pm and can be experienced free of charge.

The event will feature a special message from HRH The Prince of Wales, President of The Prince’s Foundation, and readings by the charity’s vice president The Earl of Snowdon as well as television’s Sarah Beeny and actress Emilia Fox. Beeny was last week [November 27] announced as a buildings and heritage ambassador for The Prince’s Foundation.

A selection of classic carols and festive music will be performed by the internationally renowned Choir of St Paul’s Knightsbridge.

Another highlight will be an exclusive performance by pianist Kenneth Dunsmuir on an 18th-Century Kirkman harpsichord recently restored and returned to its home at Dumfries House, which is the headquarters of The Prince’s Foundation, in Ayrshire. Dunsmuir will perform a score by J.S. Bach on the instrument delivered to Dumfries House in 1772 but which was listed for auction by Christie’s in 2007 as part of the wider Dumfries House collection before the house and estate was saved for the nation by HRH The Prince of Wales. The restoration of the harpsichord by specialist restorer Huw Saunders was made possible thanks to the support of Keneko Cord Co., Ltd.

This year’s carol concert is supported by Ecclesiastical, a unique, charity-owned, specialist financial services group giving all surplus profits to good causes and working for the greater good of society.
