Flowers in the gardens of Dumfries House

Our programmes in horticulture are designed to give young people an insight into the skills required to work in the horticulture industry or food-related production.

They range from a primary age programme which allows pupils to attend across an academic year in order to create a school garden to an entry-level training programme for secondary pupils considering a career in the industry.

These programmes take place in our education garden, walled garden and across the Dumfries House estate.

We are pleased to work along with a team of garden volunteers who enhance the smooth running of the garden. If you are interested in volunteering in our Education Garden, please email
