Hospitality Careers Fair

Each year on Dumfries House Estate, our hospitality education team hosts a free Hospitality Careers Fair for secondary school pupils across Scotland. The event showcases and promotes the wide range of career opportunities available within the hospitality industry, while highlighting potential career pathways. Each year, up to 300 pupils from various local authorities attend the event. On the day, pupils will have the opportunity to take part in:

• A Q & A with our keynote speakers
• Panel talks from industry experts
• Hands-on activities and demonstrations from industry experts and local businesses
• learning the various and varied career pathways into the industry

Open Days

Each year, we host a number of public open days across the Estate, including our Pierburg (Horticulture) Open Day and our STEM Open Day. At these events, our Hospitality Education team runs engaging activities for visitors, demonstrating how garden-grown produce can be used in cooking and how science plays a key role in the catering and hospitality industry.
