The STEM team at Dumfries House host a number of public events throughout the year, giving local communities a chance to get involved in science, technology, engineering and maths innovation in their local area.
The STEM team deliver several public events throughout the year, some examples of which are detailed below.
Example Events
STEM Open Day: A big open doors FREE public event showcasing the exciting STEM industry and innovation going on in the South West of Scotland. Previous years have given visitors a chance to fly drones, try out virtual reality and have a go in a fire truck so keep your eyes peeled for what’s in store this year. Our 2026 open day takes place on Friday the 31st of July, from 10am until 3pm.
Easter and Christmas Family Workshops: A series of themed holiday events that combine learning and fun for you and your children.
