Biography

Born in Austria, grown up in a catholic environment, religion always has been part of my life. Churches with their feasts, their silence and their images soon began to appeal to me. It was a way to come in touch with another world, with Jesus, with his saints, with his gospel …

I studied religious education at the Diocesan Highschool of Linz/Austria and then taught in primary schools. After a time of volunteering in a nursing home in Palestine I became a nurse.

Following my inner longing to learn the technique of icon painting, I attended several one-week courses with Abraham Selig, Elena Philipescu, Sonja Skrepek and Janina Zang.

From 2019 to 2022 I studied under Aidan Hart on the icon programme of the PFSTA. To learn icon painting from scratch, seeing the whole process, following the path from ancient prototyps to contemporary iconography and designing new icons within tradition – being part of it has been a great gift. And iconography is so much more … it’s a real testimony of God´s love, of his will to become man and to come in touch with us.

Now based in Trier/Germany I´d like to go on with iconography and gain further practice to create graceful and dignified Icons … these places of encounter with our loving God.

If you are interested in purchasing any of the works on show or to commission something individual, please feel free to contact me. The monochromes displayed sell for around £ 150,- and the icons range from £ 700,- to £ 1.850,-.
