Partnerships with RCA and Slade enrich the School's MA programme

The Prince's School of Traditional Arts is proud to have been involved in collaborative projects with Royal College of Art and Slade School of Fine Art.

In October 2013, during a one-week intensive workshop, students from the School's MA programme welcomed postgraduate students from RCA. The group were taught specially designed modules called 'Geometry of Structure' and 'Biomorphic Motifs'. The project is considered to have been a real triumph, with one student describing the experience as being "very inspiring for future projects".

The following month, the same students from the School's MA programme were welcomed by postgraduate students at Slade. Over a week, the diverse student body received lectures, carried out studio-based work and engaged in critical appraisal and discourse. Undeniably, the two schools represent different artistic perspectives but several of the students found the process useful, both in terms of the exchange of ideas and dialogue and in terms of the opportunity to work over a different space.

The School is honoured to have developed collaborations with these two leading institutions. In both cases, the experience has enriched the education of the School's MA students and it is hoped that these relationships will develop further in the future.
